Hey — Ketki here, Skipper's founder. I want to be upfront about some changes coming to the free plan on March 27, 2026.

The short version: Skipper costs more to run than it brings in. The AI behind Sessions is expensive, and right now the math doesn't work. Rather than shut Skipper down, I'm making the free plan more sustainable.

What's changing

• Sessions are moving to Pro. The AI that groups your tabs into smart sessions is our most resource-intensive feature. Starting March 27, new Sessions won't be generated on free accounts. Your existing Sessions will still be accessible, but they won't update with new activity. To keep Sessions going forward, upgrade to Pro.
• Free folders are going from 10 to 3. If you already have more than 3, they're not going anywhere. You just won't be able to create new ones until you're under the limit or on Pro.

What's NOT changing

• Your tabs still get saved automatically, same as always
• All Saved Tabs is still fully available
• You can still launch any saved tab, search, and use Skipper the way you always have

Why this matters

Skipper's AI doesn't just display your Sessions — it analyzes your browsing activity in real time, groups related tabs, and generates names for each session. This runs 24/7 for every user. It's the single biggest driver of our infrastructure costs, and we can't sustain it on the free plan anymore.
